...no, really i am.
Ok, perhaps not sick but defintely not well.
For the past week, I've had a nasty looking rash on my left arm and now it looks like it's beginning to stray onto my right arm as well. It doesn't really itch but it is damn annoying....
On a lighter note, Carrie sent me a random e-mail again.
Always good to hear from the evil muppet and I'm always tempted to go and say hello but now more than before, she is simply too far away.
maybe the next time she's in town, I'll go and stalk her again!
Time for something more serious.
I'm sure the UK lot here would've already read/heard about the illegal immigrants found working at Home Office buidlings doing cleaning. From what I gather, these individuals, WORKING to earn some money for themselves and family have since been arrested and are now in the process of being evaluated for deportation. This whole debacle has also brought to attention the number of "missing" illegal immigrants in the uk.
Granted this is a problem but I'm sure I am not the only one who thinks that chasing down and arresting the ones who are working illegally and shipping them off as being slightly misguided? There seems to be a great confusion and general tendency for the media and the public to bundle up those who are here who DO NOT work and are even here COMMITTING CRIMES with those who are here (admittedly illegally) working proper hard menial jobs taht the average UK citizen wouldn't do, all in the same boat. I don't think we should be cracking down on those who are working as cleaners, or graveyard shifts on warehouses. I think we should be cracking down on proper crime in general, no matter who is commiting them. If the criminal turns out to be an illegal immigrant, all the better.
The problem is, the system as it stands, just doesn't work.
There are people here in the UK that want to work and to those people I give a thumbs up. The ones that need to be dealt with are those who do not work and instead either leech of the rest of us or worse yet, associate with criminals and prey on their fellow country men out of their hard (albeit illegally) earned cash.
How's this for an idea, give those that are working proper jobs permits so that the others can't threaten them with police action or sell them forged documents?
Am i crazy for thinking this?
OK, i know that the logistics and practicallity of this is less than sound but it still seems better than to target the wrong group of people.
